Retreats are Part of the Rhythm

encouragement Aug 19, 2022
I need to have a mindset that makes retreats part of the rhythm of my life.

I love how stepping out of my normal routine helps me to hear what God is saying to me, and see things from a different perspective!

Although I love our vacations and extended times to spend with God, I also enjoy going on a walk at a beautiful place on an ordinary day, or taking a long weekend retreat.

I see how important these times are to my life and my relationship with God.

Keeping a rhythm of times to pull away to get refreshed, evaluate my life, and focus on God is so important.

My favorite local retreat spot is the Morton Arboretum.

Is it Noah, who received instructions from God that did not make any sense, yet he followed God’s word to the letter?

Is it Sarah, who believed God for the impossible?

Or maybe it is… Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, ... David, Samuel or...
